Tips for noise control
.
.
Reducing the racket
In working environments employers are obliged to protect workers from high noise levels and long-term exposure to noise. Ear protectors and noise shields must be used to avoid damage to employees' hearing.

You can also follow these easy tips to reduce noise:
schedule noisy office or building renovation work during times that minimise interruption to employees
shield or relocate noisy operations away from where people spend most time
install noise barriers or enclose noisy plant/equipment in separate rooms
implement a low-noise purchasing policy - choosing quieter equipment can save you the cost of installing noise barriers later
maintain equipment to ensure it is working well to avoid unwanted noise
introduce engineering controls eg. Reduce noise from vibrating machinery by using a vibration isolator or floating floor, or by fitting silencers to exhausts, chillers, water-cooling towers and fans, etc.
